OK — have been messing about with this thing for about a few months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so figured I’d write something up since a mate asked me a few days back. I’m based in the UK, generally bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.
What got me on it was actually embarrassing — I could never get my head round what an e/w payout actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. I used to just eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. These days I punch the numbers in before every slip, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator tool is the one I’m on daily — you put in stake and odds and you get returns with no faffing, either odds format. It also handles the bigger stuff — trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, honestly that’s where I always got it wrong. If you want a look, it’s over at implied odds calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
What actually made a difference is the geekier extras. The probability calculator which shows you how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly tool — I run quarter kelly as the full version is terrifying. The dutch tool is handy too when I’m spreading across selections.
It’s not perfect mind. Its interface looks a bit basic — no flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s usable but the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. There’s nothing on the app store, just the site — slight shame just flagging it.
Right, that’s me. Free, no ads shoved in your face, works. If anyone honestly works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saves me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
